R. W. David Joseph Billings

JGW BillingsRight Worshipful David Joseph Billings was born in Westbrook on October 31, 1938 to Ralph and Flavilla Billings. He was educated in the Westbrook schools, graduating from Westbrook High in 1957. During these early years he was active in Scouting and Church. He graduated in 1960 from Maine Maritime Academy as a mate in the Merchant Marines and an Ensign in the U.S. Navy.

During his 20 years in the Navy he was on a number of ships and did a couple of tours in Vietnam. He did graduate studies at New York University and Pace University. He returned to Maine in 1980 and entered the Commercial fishing business. He was appointed as a member on the National Fisheries Committee and founded the New England Gillnet Association.

He was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in 1985. He served as Master of Arundel Lodge No. 76 in 1996, and was honored as Master of the year for the 19th District. He has served the Grand Lodge of Maine as Assistant Chaplain.

David is a member of all York Rite Bodies. He has served as Deputy General Grand High Priest of the General Grand Chapter International. He is a Past Most Wise Master of Dunlap Chapter in the Valley of Portland, and served on the Valley Finance Committee.

Dave and his wife Mary have been married for 42 years and have 4 children and 7 Grandchildren. He and his wife reside in Kennebunkport.
