Links for More Information
Masonic Research Lodges are created for the purpose of 'spreading light' in and about Freemasonry. In addition to the links page found on the Grand Lodge of Maine website, here are some additional sites oriented towards Masonic research which the MLR Webmaster has found to be quite helpful.
The list is long but that's because there are SO many excellent websites which have Masonic information. Click on the graphics/links below to visit these sites, recommended by the MLR Webmaster.
We also encourage you to check out the MAINE MASONIC COLLEGE section of the Grand Lodge Website. There's lots happening there as well!

| Anniversary Lodge of Research #175 in New Hampshire is nearby for those Maine Masons wanting to visit outside of our jurisdiction. It s Annual Meeting each year is at the Masonically famous William Pitt Tavern at Strawberry Bank in Portsmouth. Bro. Furber does an excellent job keeping in touch with MRL and we wish ALR#175 the best. Be sure to check out their excellent newsletters! | |
The
Philalethes Society is the oldest and largest Masonic research
organization and for over 50 years has been a "must" for
all Masonic scholars. Membership is limited to Master Masons. The
PSOC Annual Meeting is held in Washington, DC during 'Masonic week'.
They also host semi-annual meetings throughout North America featuring
Masonic speakers of note. |

Quartor
Coronati Lodge #2076 in London is the Premiere Masonic Research
Lodge in the world. While membership in the Lodge itself is limited to
30 outstanding Masonic scholars, any Master Mason can join the Correspondence
Circle (QCCC) and receive the transactions of the Lodge in addition to
attending their meetings if visiting in the UK. Our own Past Master, VW
Bro. Richard Rhoda, is their Local Secretary for Maine and can provide
more information on this outstanding Masonic research Lodge. |

Since
1952, the Southern
California Lodge of Research, F&AM has been one of the most
prolific of research lodges. Their membership is an excellent bargain
and their mailings are near legendary in terms of great content. A truly
excellent investment for students of Masonic research. |

A new type of Masonic Research Lodge involves re-enactors
and reenactment. One outstanding example of this concept is found in
the
located in South Dakota. They've got a GREAT website and some very interesting
concepts. Check them out by clicking on the graphic above.

Established
in 1991, this is one of the fastest growing Masonic Research organizations
today. Their annual publication, Heredom, contains a wealth of information
not otherwise available. Membership in SRRS is VERY strongly suggested
for any Masonic scholar or someone who thinks they might like to be at
some future point in time. |
|
Another
excellent research lodge is that of the Texas Lodge of Research. One of
their Past Masters was named a Fellow of the Maine Lodge of Research and
their members have produced numerous outstanding Masonic books over the
years. |

| If the information you're seeking is in list form (dates of founding of Grand Lodges, which way other jurisdictions wear their aprons during the Entered Apprentice Degree or nearly any other piece of information that can appear in a list), head to Paul Bessel's website. Paul is the Librarian of the George Washington Masonic National Memorial and has more information in a condensed form that nearly anywhere else on the web. Very highly recommended! We're also proud that Paul is a Fellow of the Maine Lodge of Research! | |
Pietre-Stones
identifies itself as 'a review about Freemasonry made by Freemasons for
Freemasons'. Its Italian creator and its broad international following
makes it a source for material not otherwise available to US Masons.
We think you'll find it interesting. There are full copies of many
reference works along with current essays and a thoughtful discussion
list. Check it out! |
|
| The Civil War Lodge of Research #1865 is an official Lodge of Research under the Grand Lodge of Virginia. | |
