Newsletter from the Grand Secretary

Hollis G. Dixon, Grand Secretary

October 2006

KEEP ME WARM project: Last month, the Grand Master, in his letter to the craft, talked about the idea of supporting single focus groups in our communities with some of their important projects. He spoke in particular about the KEEP ME WARM project. This project involves volunteers helping to "button up homes against the winter chill for those who need the help." This is a statewide project, which is scheduled to take place from October 19 to October 22, 2006. He announced that R.W. Sandy Lyle has agreed to coordinate our Masonic Volunteers with the proper State Officials. Brother Lyle can be reached at (207) 763‑3884 (Home) or (207) 557‑0561 (Cell) or by Email: sandy@tidewater.net

Additionally, Wor. James Dufresne, our Grand Librarian, informed us that he is working with the United Way in York County on the, KEEP ME WARM project, as well. He tells us that there are:

  • 175 homes that will be winterized between Oct. 19 and Oct. 22, 2006.
  • 300 Volunteers that will participate in this project.
  • 50 Maine Companies and organizations will contribute resources (supplies, etc.)

Brother Dufresne also provided us with a Flyer on this program and an information sheet, which will provide you with full information about accessing the Internet for specific information about ‑ "Who to contact in any one of our 16 Counties in Maine."

E‑mail Addresses: Once again, I would like to remind you that we have three different email addresses coming into the Grand Lodge office; each for a specific purpose:

grandlodge@mainemason.org goes directly to the girls that will fill your orders for lodge supplies, 50 Year Veterans' Medals, official forms and forwarding Dispensation requests to the Grand Master.

grandtreasurer@mainemason.org goes to the Grand Treasurer and

grandsecretary@mainemason.org goes to the Grand Secretary.

Please try to use the address, which pertains to the particular message you are sending. By doing so, you will help us to be more efficient here at the Grand Lodge Office. Thank you!

Fraternally,

Hollis G. Dixon
Grand Secretary
